Welcome to India's National Green Hydrogen Mission and Opportunities webinar.

Webinar Overview

As we know, recently Central Government of India announced the National Green Hydrogen Mission with a total outlay for the mission ₹19,744 crore ($2.2 Bn USD), out of which the government has allocated ₹17,490 crore for the SIGHT program, ₹1,466 crores for the upcoming pilot projects, ₹400 crores for R&D, and ₹388 crores towards other mission components. The mission is aimed at making India the global hub for the production of green hydrogen. The Mission will have wide-ranging benefits- the creation of export opportunities for Green Hydrogen and its derivatives; Decarbonisation of industrial, mobility, and energy sectors; reduction in dependence on imported fossil fuels and feedstock; development of indigenous manufacturing capabilities; creation of employment opportunities; and development of cutting-edge technologies. India’s Green Hydrogen production capacity is likely to reach at least 5 MMT per annum, with an associated renewable energy capacity addition of about 125 GW. The targets by 2030 are likely to bring in over Rs. 8 lakh crore investments and create over 6 lakh jobs. Nearly 50 MMT per annum of CO2 emissions are expected to be averted by 2030. IESA Welcome the move and thanks to all government bodies and India Green Hydrogen Council (IGHC) Members for their active involvement & input in this policy-making and market-creation process. We expect India to lead the green hydrogen production, technology development, and deployment with export opportunities.

IESA closely works with 30+ key stakeholders including L&T, NTPC, HPCL, Oil India, Bosch, Renew Power, Hero Future Energies, Toyota, Vena Energy, Cummins, Fortum, AMRARAJA, KPIT, Atotech, H2E Power, MTU India, Leap Green Energy, The World Bank, Innovation Norway, Government of Western Australia, Scottish Development International, MENA Hydrogen Alliance, Green hydrogen Collation-USA, GIZ, Indo German Energy Forum (IGEF), Greenstat, WRI, CEEW, and others.

We are happy to mention that IESA is launching India Green Hydrogen Council (IGHC), a dedicated platform to boost green hydrogen R&D, Manufacturing, and adoption in India.
